MexItalian Restaurant is a fusion of simple Mediterranean & Latin influences featuring local, organic & sustainable ingredients. Partners, JP & Fernando came together almost 15 years ago in the Santa Cruz area, each bringing an important piece of their culture to their new venture; MexItalian. JP, raised in both France & Italy was originally inspired by his mothers cooking and went on to be formally trained before moving to the United States in 1993. Fernando originally from Oaxaca, Mexico joined the staff at JP's early ventures; (Star Bene and Cafe Mare in Santa Cruz) and quickly demonstrated his exceptional skills in the use of fresh seasonal ingredients as well as bread, pizza & pasta making. His early training consisted of regional Mexican cuisine while later focusing on Italian and Mediterranean. Here at MexItalian you will experience fusion cuisine with influences from Italy, Mexico and Central & South America.
